restore point removed by retention
Hello,
I am relative new to Veeam software so here it goes .
I have 2x esxi hosts, a virtual VBR in a esxi.
In my point of view the replication job takes a very long time to complete and the most cases is spent when trying to delete a restore point (" 1 restore point removed by retention policy "), usually it takes much longer then copying and creating a new snapshot of the VM.
If some one knows any information related to this topic is welcomed to share

Re: restore point removed by retention
Number of replica restore points is controlled by retention policy specified in the job settings. In case of replication job, "one restore point removed by retention policy" means that oldest replica snapshot has been just committed. Kindly, refer to corresponding section of our Help Center for more information regarding replication mechanism.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: restore point removed by retention
my issue is related to the fact that it takes significant time to remove the replica restore point and in effect keeping the proxy busy.

Re: restore point removed by retention
Actually, snapshot commit operation is handled solely by VMware and VB&R has nothing to do with it. Under certain circumstances (e.g. large snapshot), snapshot commit operation might take some time, indeed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: restore point removed by retention
Snapshot removal does not use backup proxy, and as such should not keep the proxy resource busy.

Re: restore point removed by retention
It seems that I had a storage issue combined with poor snapshot deletion (28 day retention) in vCenter.
