Restore Points that reached their removal date still active
We have Restore Points that reached their removal date which still shows active under the Files display. They also shows in the "Backup Copy Job GFS Backup Files" report with a removal date that has exceeded the current time. It therefore seems that these Restore Points were not removed as specified per the removal date. Why is that possible?

Hello Willie and welcome to the community!
Are you referring only to GFS backups?
In forward backup chains full and older increments are not deleted until the whole chain is outdated.
As for GFS backups, did you have any missing full backups? In other words, do you have more backups than set in the job parameters?
Thanks!

And since we're talking about GFS restore points, is "read entire restore point from source repository" option selected by any chance? Thanks.

Yes we refer only to GFS backups. There might be missing full backups, we need to check.

Thank you for your response. Currently the option "read entire restore point from source repository" is not selected. Should we select it?v.Eremin wrote:And since we're talking about GFS restore points, is "read entire restore point from source repository" option selected by any chance? Thanks.

Please check. The easiest way is to compare actual number of backups with configured number in corresponding job.Yes we refer only to GFS backups. There might be missing full backups, we need to check.
It's up to you. You may read about the feature here.Currently the option "read entire restore point from source repository" is not selected. Should we select it?
Thanks!
