Restore procedures/best practices
We are running veeam in a production environment backing up 6 servers. Nightly we do a replica job for local backup to a QNAP NAS, and also complete a backup to the same NAS that is copied to a USB and taken to a DR site. Nightly a copy of the Veeam virtual appliance is also included on the backup drive. On weekends we are making copies of VM's also taken offsite on VM. Offsite DR also has QNAP NAS for storage. Replicas have tested fine as well as copies taken remotely and run on DR server from remote NAS. However we are unable to get Instant recovery to work. Using the copied Veeam virtual appliance on the DR server we import the backup files (after copying to the remote NAS storage) then try instant recovery, attempting to restore upon the DR Server with name changed to xxservernamexxx-recovery All goes according to plan until it gets to "Publishing VM" where it hangs. I left it run for hours but no joy. Have I got these procedures correct? Support # 5146893

Re: Restore procedures/best practices
Your procedure looks good, but may be the fact that you have cloned Veeam server brakes it. Try fresh Veeam install on the DR server.
