Restore Scheduling

Post by brichardson1991_obk »

Hi there,

After backup i want to be able to schedule a restore task to restore my backups to a separate device so that I can test they have backed up and have them ready should a server fail, this also allows me to see how long a restore job would take.

Please could you advise how I'd go about setting up restore scheduling.

Thanks

As foggy has mentioned - SureBackup is probably what you need. Regarding "how long a restore job would take" - why would you need to automate that? I believe that restore time won't change significantly, unless your backup grows really fast and/or your infrastructure gets up/downgraded. However, if you really want to automate that, then I believe you need to either setup a SureBackup Jobs and collect reports on that Jobs' durations with Veeam ONE or to use PowerShell scripting. Here are some examples of what you can do with a PowerShell and Veeam ONE - feel free to reverse-engineer example scripts proveded in thread.

Thank you.
