Re: Restore to UNC path?
Hi Kenneth, are you talking about file-level restore?

I want to restore some vmdk files to another server. This server I cannot install veeam components on.

Re: Restore to UNC path?
In case you're using VM File Restore option, you can only select servers added to the backup infrastructure. If you're using Virtual Disks Restore, then only vSphere datastores can be selected as target.

Do you know the reason for not being able to do this?

Re: Restore to UNC path?
Veeam B&R components are required on the target server.

Re: Restore to UNC path?
Well, its just a path for putting a file on it? Why would it need B&R on a NAS or some other disk to place the VHD/VMDK?

Re: Restore to UNC path?
With this type of restore, data is transferred between Veeam data movers installed on the source (proxy) and target servers.
