Hi,
When the Veeam backup job is finished it creates a file with the .vbk extension. My question would be if somehow it is possible to recover a single file without having to restore the entire backup. Maybe there is something via API that I can read this .vbk and just pick a chosen file.
Thanks

Re: Restore .vbk by taking a single file
Hello,
I hope there is no misunderstanding, but yes, we invented that maybe 12 years ago
In the UI you can do that with just a few clicks (file-level restore option). Automation can be done with PowerShell.
If you are talking about restoring without VBR software. Then you can use the extract utility (cmd line available) and you will get VM disk files. Then you need a tool to mount the VMDK / VHDX file and you an also restore.
Best regards,
Hannes
