restore VMs

Post by wael.nady »

hello, i'm using VBR 9.5U4 and i've 2 questions:
1- is it compatible to restore VMware backup file to a HV server? as i don't see HV server when trying to restore or what would be possible approach?

2- current backup retention set to keep 14 days and i want extend the retention to include 1 backup file per month. how to change the current backup task. or if i've to create a copy task what are the criteria?
thanks

1) Hello, today we do not rovide cross hypervisor migrations. The only two options are Direct Restore to Azure/Azure Stack or Direct Restore to AWS ... if this helps?

2) Best option would be to create a backup copy job. There you have the monthly option. Industry best practices are anyway to perform backup copies to another device and site.

1. However, you can back up VMware VM, using Veeam Agent for Windows or Linux and instantly restore it to Hyper-V host. Thanks!
