Hi all,
I'm new to the product and trying to see if it can meet our needs. I'm pretty sure it can and I'm just not understanding part of the process.
We want VBR (5.0.1) to backup to tape once a month using Backup Exec 2010 R2. I have read about postscripts, etc. and I think I can figure that out. Here's what I don't understand, and please forgive me if I'm missing something obvious:
Example scenario:
I make a reverse incremental job that keeps 30 restore points, on the first of every month I back up the .VBK file to tape. OK, now I have a full.
Four months down the road I need to restore to that .VBK I backed up. Now what?
If I click Full VM Restore and pull up the job, it's only going to have the past 30 restore points which are on disk. This is a standalone .VBK I just grabbed from tape. How do I get it to recognize that .VBK?
Thank you,
Nevin

Re: Restoring from a .VBK that is no longer known to Veeam
You can import the backup .vbk file by using the import menu/option.

D'oh! That should really be in the Restore Wizard (unless I overlooked it).
I do see it on the ribbon up top though. Thanks a lot!

Nevin, apart from using backup console to restore your VMs, you can also use standalone restore utility.
