Hello,
I'm trying to determine the best way to restore from a VBK stored on a remote file share. I'm testing using rsync to move VBK's to a remote share. Due to resource limitations, I am unable to use backup copy jobs.
I want to test restoring from the VBK that was rsync'd but I can't import the job since the file is stored on a FreeBSD (FreeNas) repository, and not a windows machine.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Restoring from remote share
Hi,
Have you tried adding the host that has an access to the share as a repository and then perform repo rescan?
Thanks

Re: Restoring from remote share
Yes, I have tried doing a repo scan, but it doesn't find the .vbk file. I suspect that it's because I am only copying the vbk, and no metadata file, but I could be wrong.

Re: Restoring from remote share
Correct, you need meta (.vbm) file. Please copy the meta to the remote share and try to perform repository rescan again.
Thanks
