Restoring to AWS

Is it possible to restore a VMware backup to AWS as a EC2 instance? I know this can be accomplished with Azure.

Has there been any progress on this? I'm very interested in the Veeam AWS VTL solution, but we need to be able to recover quickly in a disaster. Since all the data would be in AWS it would be quickest to recover to AWS in a complete disaster scenario.

Yes, in our beta for update 4, Direct Restore to Amazon EC2 is included (and Direct Restore to Microsoft Azure Stack also)

Hi Ryan,

There is no manual or white paper yet. However, if you go to our helpcenter you can read already on how it works in Azure today. While there are going to be differences (a VM is built up differently in Azure versus AWS) the principle itself for the restore is the same.
