Restoring VM to EC2 Instance from Veeam Backup for Azure

Post by JWat »

I have integrated my Veeam Backup for Azure with VBR and I am looking to carryout a restore of a VM from Azure to an EC2 instance, however when trying to complete this process I am unable to choose the instance type during the restore wizard. When i select edit to choose the instance the dropdown does not provide me with a list of available instances to choose from.

The AWS credentials being used are administrative so there should be no issues with permissions, but is there something I am missing or something that needs changing?

A support case has been logged for this issue (05950389)

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.

If you already use administrative credentials, then I would try to use a different region. Maybe there is something wrong in the AWS datacenter you chose. Besides of that, support seems to be the only way to find out the root cause. I have never heard about that issue before.

Best regards,
Hannes

Which region did you select during the process? Some instance sizes are not always available everywhere so I am wondering if it could be related.

Thanks for the responses.
The region selected for restore was Asia Pacific (Sydney) and the original location within Azure is Australia East.
