Retention help

Hello all:
I need a bit of help to meet our retention needs. It is in our contract to restore from any day within a year. How would I go about configuring retention for this, while utilizing the least amount of drive space? I know I could choose 365 days for restore points, but that would create a crazy long chain that could become corrupted. Any thoughts?

You can perform periodic (say, monthly) active fulls if a year-long chain is your concern.

Also, take a look at XFS/ReFS block cloning setup where you can create synthetic fulls which reuse existing data blocks:
