reverse incremental - backup copy job

Post by PeterSchwatz »

When I configure within a reverse incremental backup job a secondary target (backup copy job) the copy job contain the incremental .vib file and not the synthetic full (from reverse incremental job) .vbk file.
Is this correct? How can I configure the backup job that the secondary target contain the .vbk file?

Peter, backup copy job doesn't copy backup files as a whole, but rather synthetically creates required restore points in target location from VM data in source backup repositories. It is always incremental, so the first point in the chain is always full backup and all subsequent restore points are VIB files. please review the corresponding user guide section for details.
