Reversed incremental do not truncate SQL2000 logs

Post by jaguar00 »

Veeam Enterprise 6.1.0.181
SQL 2000
W2003

Application-Aware Image Processing enable
I tried both options (truncate transaction logs after successful VM backup or truncate transaction logs immediately) bad without success. Backups finished ok but logs stayed big. What can I try?

I used Veritas before and it woked. Now is Veritas service stopped.

Thank you.

Do you have VSS enabled on SQL 2000?

VSS service is Manual on SQL server.

I have read that MSDEWriter is important for SQL2000 backup.

OK, thanks for checking. I didn't believe we ever supported log truncation on SQL 2000 (only 2005 or later), but best would be to have support review your logs, and have them confirm this with R&D. Please open a support case, and include case ID here in this thread for further reference. Thanks!

Veeam support reply:
"That is true, log truncation is not supported for SQL 2000 and has never been. "
