RMAN plugin and DDboost

Post by DanielJ »

I just got confirmation from support that v10 of the RMAN plugin for linux still is unable to use DDboost. Is this on the roadmap at all, is it being tested?

Of course, it IS able to use a DDboost enabled repository. It just has to transfer the full amount of data to VBR first.

Hi Daniel,

We have no this feature on our rodadmap but we can consider implementation in future releases based on number of similar requests.

Thanks!

OK, thanks. Maybe the number of RMAN-to-DD setups in the world aren't that big, but I really hope you will consider it. I just migrated a customer from a legacy product to Veeam and this was the one detail where the new solution was severely outperformed by the old one.
