Hi, We are about to virtualize our server estate and i am looking at how we might back it up. We have a couple of options the first is to stay with the product we are using at the moment (Bakbone Netvault) and use their VCB agent or to use Netvault for some of the bakups and another product like Veeam backup for image level ect or maybe all the backups.
We have several servers that run pre and post backup scripts. Is there a way to run these with Veeam?

Re: Running Pre and Post Backup scripts
Hi Andrew, if you are using pre and post backup scripts, you want to make them a part of VMware Tools pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts (google on these for more information). These scripts are getting invoked automatically before and after snapshot creation. One example of how our customers are using such scripts, is to suspend Oracle server before making snapshot, and then resume it after snapshot was created.
