SAML auth edge webview

Post by tm67 »

Hi
When using v13 with SAML auth, we have the option in the VBR console (not WebUI) to "Sign in with SSO". This opens an Edge WebView process, which redirects me to the login page of my SAML provider. My SAML provider supports PassKey for authentication. I store the PassKey in my password manager. But in this Edge WebView, I cannot access the passkey of the password manager. Is there an option to open this SSO login page directly with the normal Edge browser client? (or any other browser installed on my system?)
Also, if I am already signed in on the normal Edge browser, I would not have to sign in again in the Edge WebView process.
With the WebUI of VBR, this works perfect.

Hi Timo.
At the moment, there isn’t an option to redirect the SSO login from Edge WebView to your regular browser.
Native Passkey integration is already being considered as a potential improvement for future versions.

Thanks, Passkey would be great to see. But for SAML provider to work with Passkey there is another solution required. Maybe this is also something you could add to a future release to be considered.
