Sanity check please (hybrid environment)

Post by lando_uk »

Hi.
Just checking as I'm a little out of touch with regards to standard solutions nowadays.
Rather than having my VBR & Veeam One on-prem, is it now acceptable to host them all in AWS and just have a single hw repo on-site for primary vmware backups? Tiering off to S3 for a sudo-air-gap type protection?

Site3 is an option using old, leftover hardware.

VBA is a potential future addon to protect our EC2/RDS.

See below.

Hi Mark,

I wouldn't expect any issues with this deployment as long as VBR on AWS has access to all three sites. I can also advise to enable configuration backup for additional protection of Veeam B&R database.

Thanks!
