SAP Hana plugin PluginParameters customServerName

Post by StanoSedliak »

Hi,

we are using SAP Hana plugin for our backup for SAP.
We installed the plugin on server01 and server02. SAP is running on server01 but if we need we switch the SAP on server02. The SAP has also a virtual name SAPHANA.
By default, Veeam Plug-in uses a hostname to create the Veeam Backup & Replication job object and a folder where the backups will be stored.
We set the parameter <PluginParameters customServerName="SAPHANA" /> in /opt/veeam/VeeamPluginforSAPHANA/veeam_config.xml on both servers.

When SAP is running on server01 and we do the backup the backup job has the name as we need SAPHANA and is doing the backup to the folder SAPHANA.
When we switch the application to server02 and do the backup, the backup is called server02 and doing the backup to folder server02 but the parameter customerservername is as on the first server SAPHANA. Do you have an idea why is the job not running with name SAPHANA and writing it to the same folder?

Thank you!

Hi Stano,

At first sight, it looks like a technical issue. Do you have a support case ID?

Thanks!

Hi Petr,

no, first I wanted to ask here if someone has experience with kind kind of setup and that maybe I just not see something.
But if needed I will ask customer to open also support case.

Thank you!

Br, Stano
