Save a restore point beyond normal amount of time

Post by sclind »

We keep 14 restore points in our jobs. Incremental backups run daily. Synthetic fulls get created once a week. (So we tend to have 14-21 restore points depending on the day of the week).

I know at some point we are going to get a request like "we need to keep last Tuesdays backup until the end of the month". On the other backup products I support I would literally go in and change the expiration date of last Tuesdays backup to the end of the month.

But how could I accomplish the same thing with Avamar?

Hi Scott, not sure about Avamar, but there's no option to set individual retention for the particular restore point in Veeam B&R. Thanks.

Sorry - I meant Veeam in my last sentence. I have too many backup products on my mind :-)
