Scandinavian characters in job name = no go

Post by lvh »

Made 2 new jobs with one scandinavian non US character and none of them worked, all other jobs works fine.

"Failed to start server agent on the host xxxx.
Time out to start agent".

Tried all updates - no firewall - restart both hosts - no change.
Deleted jobs and created new similar but with US characters only in name - no problem.

If somebody else has the problem...

Lars, I believe the issue here is that the job name is also used as default name for the backup file, but as per release notes we do not support non-latin characters in the backup file name/path. Probably, you should be able to keep scandinavian characters in the job name as long as your change the default/proposed backup file name to only contain latin characters. You do this on the Backup Destination wizard's step.
