Scheduled Active Full Backup - can I just delete it?

Veeam Logoby mjgreen81 » Thu Dec 22, 2016 8:49 am

Hi all,

I have a reverse incremental daily backup job on one of our file servers. To keep things nice and tidy, once every 2 months it runs a full active back up which results in an additional .vbk which is nearly 1TB in size.

My question is, can I safely just manually delete the old VBK copy (highlighted) which was created when the full active backup was run? I still have a corresponding .vrb which was taken at the same time, but dont know if this will be useless without the VBK taken at the same time.

Thanks :)

Hi Mike,

As "old VBK copy" was created during daily reverse incremental process, you have to keep file as corresponding .vrb chained to it.

P.S. More detailed information about reverse incremental backup: LINK
