Set up monthly immutable Full Backup

Hi Guys!

I need help to set up or understand the following

The Linux hardened repository is all up and working. Just need help to set up the backup job since I can't seem to get it in my head...

We want to create a full backup once a month to keep it on the hardened rep. for 6 months. no dailys or weeklys...
How do I set this up:
Storage: Retention Policy 6 RP, Backup Mode "Incremental without synthetic full, "Create active full backups monthly first sunday..."
Schedule: Run the job automatically "Monthly at XX first sunday"

Would this work like intendet?

what I don't get is, when using the old RP simulator, I get 40 restore points: http://rps.dewin.me/
with the new one, I don't even know how to insert the settings since it only allows GFS points with minimum 2 dailys https://calculator.veeam.com/vbr/

could you maybe export the link (the export checkbox). I cannot see a way how to schedule monthly backups in the restore point simulator.

I just took "pen and paper". Monthly backup with full scheduled on that day does not have any increments. Meaning no need to keep more files than the full backup.

interval is "daily". but I see "monthly" in the schedule of the initial post

yes because thats the only thing i can insert there. As I said, also tried with the new one but it also needs dailys.
Just wanted to make sure it only creats monthlys with the settings above.

gonna need to calculate it by hand...

yeah, the tools are build for 99% of the use-cases. building tools for 1% would make them just complex (usability and development) with almost no benefit

I'm starting to get curious why monthly backup is a thing. I mean, that sounds like "no backup" to me

we have daily backup on site and via copy job in another location.
Just to be safe, we want to have hardened repository where we have monthly backup for 6 months as well as a last resource
