Sharepoint 2013

Post by jbcom41 »

Hi There
We have veeam which is installed on a different server to our SQL 2012 Server, and I believe we have to install it on our SQL 2012 Server to allow it to backup our SharePoint 2013?
Can I install a 2nd copy of veeam onto our SQL 2012 Server? Can you please advise what the best option is to resolve this issue?
If we install a 2nd copy of Veeam onto our sql 2012 server do we need another licence?
Our sharepoint environment is SQL 2012 installed on a 2012 Server box and sharepoint 2013 installed onto another 2012 Server box...

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

You do not need Veeam B&R to be installed on the server to be able to back it up. What you would need to be able to perform granular SharePoint restores via Veeam Explorer for SharePoint though, is to use local staging SQL server.
