Sharepoint 2016 Item-level restore over VIX ?

Post by andyg »

Hi

Is it possible to an Item-level restore on Sharepoint 2016 using the VMware VIX interface? There is NO network routability between Veeam and the server I need to restore to.

Hi Andy,

No, Veeam Explorers do not support restore over VIX.

Can you establish the network connection the other way though (from the network with target SharePoint to Veeam)? If yes, then you can simply install another B&R console into that network, and connect to your existing B&R server. That console will mount backups to itself and then you will be able to perform the restore.

Thanks!

[MERGED] restore networkless VMs

Post by johan.martens »

Hi

I try to restore an AD user from Veeam B&R 9.5. But when i try I only get cant find LDAP server. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. How will I be able to restore an Application object like a user or an SQL database? Doesn't veeam explorer for MS AD use VIX or whatever the API is called nowadays?

Best regards
