Slow backup with Veeam SAP on Oracle plugin after V12

We recently upgraded from V11 to V12.
After the upgrade, we have noticed that the backup time for our SAP Oracle database has increased.
We use the Veeam SAP on Oracle plugin to take the SAP database backup with SAP BRTOOLS.
Earlier, the backup used to finish in 1 hour. Now it is taking 2.5 hours.

We have already raised a ticket with Support, caseID : 06042468

Support asked us to downgrade the Veeam SAP on Oracle plugin back to V11 and check. The backup speed was back to normal.
So now we are running VBR 12 and plugin 11.

Support has informed in the case that we should wait for a patch for v12 SAP on oracle plugin before we reinstall ...Is anyone else having slow speed in SAP on oracle plugin based BRTools backup ???

Please let me have some time to clarify with the support team why they recommended you wait for a patch. I'm not aware of any performance issues with v12 that are supposed to be fixed in the patch.

I have escalated the case within the support organization. Likely they will want to check some things in your environment to deepen the analyze why it is slower in your environment.

Yesterday, we got a hotfix for the plugin and when we tested, we found that the performance was at par with V11 plugin. Support gave this logic :
The fix should bring back the v11 logic of spawning a repository datamover per backup channel, which should alleviate the performance issues we've discovered.

Hello everybody, is this hotfix already implemented in Veeam Version Version : 12.0.0.1420 P20230718?
Or did we open a ticket again, to also get this hotfix?

Hi Oliver,

The fix will be included in 12.1 so my suggestion is to wait for the release if the issue is not very urgent for you. Otherwise, you can request the hotfix via support ticket.
