Hello
Is it possible to use SMB 3.1.1 with the fast-clone and merge functionality of VBR and Server 2016 if i use as the proxy server an Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Server?
My question is because Ontap 9.1 is supporting SMB 3.1.1 so we can use the Ontap vFiler and not have to add to our setup a Server 2016 Repository Server.
Thank you for help
Regards Flo

Re: SMB 3.1.1
Hi, Flo!
Normally, the share must be backed by ReFS 3.1 file system for this to work. But as we know, NetApp uses their own proprietary WAFL file system - so unless they implement the corresponding FSCTL too, this won't work.
Thanks!
