Hi,
I have a new installation of VSphere 4.0 Update1 on a HP Proliant DL380 G6-server.
Veeam Backup 4.1.1 is running in a virtual machine, Win2008 R2 Std.
I have one Win2003 Citrix server VM running also on this ESX server.
When I start backup, everything looks ok (ESX creates snapshot, backup starts and so on).
But the problem is: My VMs seems to roll back in time in some sort of way!
On the Veeam VM machine, the last application installed dissapperared, ip-settings was reset and the connection to the Windows domain reverted to Workgroup.
I thought it was a temporary error, so I started a backup on the Citrix VM.
Exactly when the backup starts, Citrix server throws up a message that everyone will be logged out in 2 minutes and then throws out everyone. After that, I can´t login, getting message that there is no way to authenticate the user against the domain.
I have tried both vStorage API with Virtual Machine option, and Network Mode. Same result.
Neither VM has any snapshot before backup starts. ESX creates snapshot and deletes after backup, as it should.
What is happening!!???

Re: Snapshot error on backup
Problem solved. In some sort of way, the Veeam virtual server had got the HDD set as Non-persistent.
