Hey all, just thought I'd post something here tos ee if anyone has had this issue.
We has a SQL Database server crash around the same time the snapshot was removing from a backup. The backup and snapshot removal was successful but we had this reboot cause some hefty problems. Has anyone seen this before?

Re: Snapshot Removal causes VM to crash?
Hi Andy,
Can you please clarify your situation - did your VM reboot after snapshot removal API call? What information do you have in VMware VM log files at this time?
Thanks!

Re: Snapshot Removal causes VM to crash?
Based on what I see, the crash happened before the snapshot removal call
Windows logs show 12:30am was the unexpected shutdown; VMware shows the snapshot removal started at 12:31am. There were no other failures on the VMware side (I have not pulled the logs from the ESX Host just yet).
Veeam job log shows "Removing VM snapshot" took about 5 minutes 39 seconds or about 12:28am
There is about two minutes from when the Removing VM snapshot that Veeam started and the unexpected shutdown and another minute before VMware actually called the snapshot to be removed that I cannot account for any issues

In this case VMware logs review is required, it will definitely explain the reason for this shutdown/reboot.
