SOBR evacuate data dehydrated
Hi Everyone,
I have SOBR with a performance tier (windows) and capacity tier (Azure blob).
I'm planning on migrate my windows server repository to harden repository and notice in some forums that it might effect data reduction.
basically I will add the harden repository as a performance extent and evacuate the data from the windows extent.
How it will effect the data reduction on the existing backups?
Thanks in advance
Moshe Mazor

Re: SOBR evacuate data dehydrated
Hi Moshe
You can't mix immutable and mutable extends in the performance tier since v12.1.
Please follow this kb article to migrate all your backups from the windows extend to the new hardened repository extend:
https://www.veeam.com/kb4636
FastClone will be preserved during the evacuation. If not, please open a support case for investigation.
Best,
Fabian

Re: SOBR evacuate data dehydrated
what can I do with the capacity tier? I need to have it on the existing SOBR... I don't want to synchronize the data from the beginning

Re: SOBR evacuate data dehydrated
Backup file evacuation between performance tier extents will not lead to a full offload to capacity tier.
Best,
Fabian
The kb article doesn't mention anything about creating a new SOBR or replacing the capacity tier extends. You are safe if you follow the steps in the kb.I need to have it on the existing SOBR...

Fabian
