SOBR evacuation file placement

Post by mikeely »

I'm moving a lot of backups from simple repos to a SOBR (following kb2236) and one of the sort of maddening things I'm encountering is the backup files are all being dumped into the root of the destination performance extent. Where the simple repo will have a path that makes sense like /mnt/veeam/backups/backup_job_name when that gets evacced to the remaining extent on the SOBR all the backup files just get dumped into the root of the performance extent. This can be thousands of files depending on the job in question so it's kind of annoying to clean up after.

So far I've been managing it by creating a dir and moving all the vbk and vib and vbm files into it, and then rescanning the repo, but it'd be nice if there was a way to to specify where all these files are going to wind up. Am I missing an option to do this somewhere?

Hello,
can you maybe provide exact configuration options and what you do? Maybe a case number?

Because in my tests everything ends perfectly fine it it's folders. I remember that you work with NFS, so I tested from Windows to NFS. I also tested Windows to Windows. In both cases everything was placed correctly into folders.

Best regards,
Hannes

Eh, if this is abnormal behavior then I will open a case and update here. Thanks.
