Sorting virtual machines list

Post by gastronomas »

Hello,

Maybe someone can explain me, why there is no possibility to sort vm list when editing backup job and adding new vm to backup list ?
Added vm is always stand's at the bottom...

Hello and welcome to the community!
I believe because it`s considered as the best practice to add VM containers(resource pools, VM folders, tags...) to the jobs, rather than huge number of single VMs.
How many VMs do you add?
Thanks!

Modestas, there are "Up" and "Down" buttons for this. Just select VM and move where you want.

Thank you,
Yes, I know that, there is buttons to move vm's up or down.
And yes, there is ability to add VM folders, but for resource pools you have to have right vpshere version to use them.

But for other's reason's, this small enhancement would be very nice feature, like in every application, you can sort things! :)

Thank you

Could you please share some use cases for this feature? Is it just to facilitate search in the VM list? Cause I don't believe you would want to specifically process VMs in alphabetic order, this is the same as random anyway.
