SQL 2008 R2 SP1 Install

Post by cowhow »

I just upgraded to V8. Anyone experience any issues applying SP1 to SQL 2008R2?

Hey Vitaliy,

No issues. After the upgrade, I was installing a few MS updates and the SQL SP was one of them. I've installed the SP on most all other 2008R2 SQL boxes with no issues, but due to the fresh upgrade I wanted to make sure I wasn't shooting myself in the foot.

There should be no issues with service packs and Windows updates, so no worries. On a side note, even if something happens to your SQL Server, you can always restore Veeam backup infrastructure configuration via config backup (*bco file) that is created automatically and contains all info you need during DR situation.

Thanks and that's one thing I have come to really appreciate about Veeam. While nothing is 100% bullet proof, Veeam is pretty close. For example, upgrades are snap as are rollups and patches.
