SQL AIR Wizard - Support for SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

Post by markfellows »

Quick question (scoured the boards but couldn't find the answer).

Is SQL Server 2008 R2 Express supported by the SQL Air Wizard? It doesn’t mention it in the release notes so can I take that as it doesn’t?

I’ve tried using the wizard a few times and I keep receiving remote connection errors. Remote connections seem to be working correctly as I can connect to the server via SQL Management Studio from the live environment using a masquerade address.

The virtual lab I'm using seems to be configured ok as I can access and restore items from AD using the same lab.

Thanks,

Mark.

Hi Mark,

We haven't mentioned SQL Server editions in our Release Notes individually, as all of them are supported. Could you please shoot all the log files to our support team so we could have a look at your issue?

Thank you!

Mark,

Me personally, I used SQL U-AIR with 2008 R2 only and it worked for me.. However, SQL U-AIR is still in BETA state, so some glitches are expected.

Support said my issue was due to a problem with the SQL U-AIR. I'll test it in 5.0.2 (as it's no longer in BETA) and post the results.
