Hi Everyone,
At the moment we are using Veeam B&R for our SQL backups. The DBA wants to perform some other SQL backups using the native SQL management studio. I am concerned about the backup chaining will break for both Veeam and the SQL backups as they both will be taking full backups truncating the SQL logs. Will this pose any issues

Yes, only one system can manage SQL log backups. You can do full backups from the native SQL tools as long as you use the COPY_ONLY flag when doing so but you wont' be able to do log backups using the native tools if Veeam is. Conversely you can set Veeam to do COPY_ONLY backups and not do logf backups if you use the native tools to do normal full and log backups
