SQL loses connection with storage integration backup

We have a robot in a warehouse who needs a live connection with the SQL database. This is an SQL 2008 databbase running on a ESXi 5.5 host managed bij VC 5.5 and the storage is a Storevirtual environment from HP.

Every morning we make a backup from this VM and when veeam creates the storage snapshot, the robot loses his SQL connection. This isn't a network issue because it is I/O related. When the storevirtual creates the LUN snapshot he creates that much I/O that he loses the connection with SQL an stopped working. The VM has his dedicated LUN and it is a dedicated job and runs completely alone on a time that there is less traffic/ I/O.

Is there someone who have suggestions to get a stable connection between the SQL server and the robot?

Just to make sure I understand your setup - do you use storage snapshots to backup this VM and see VM stun when this snapshot is created? Do you have the same behavior if you create storage snapshot manually?
