SQL Point-In-Time recovery question
When I do full+transaction log backups using a SQL maintenance plan, I can easily do a point-in-time restore using the tail-log. Is there any way to do a tail-log restore using veeam's sql backup procedures? That would require either:
-Native support for restore with tail-log in veeam 8
-export veeam's sql images as .bak and .trn files so that I can instruct SQL to restore with tail-log.
Are either of these things possible? Here is our scenario to put the question in context: We have a critical SQL server running sql 2012. Currently, we take a daily full backup and 15-minute transaction log backups and send them to a NAS device. If the SQL server crashes, we get a 15-minute RPO with a possiblity for less if we are able to get a tail-log backup. Are there any real benefits to using Veeam for our transaction log backups over the native SQL process?

I would also like to know what the reporting options are for SQL transaction log backups - Will a daily report let me know if some of the transaction log backups had errors?

Do you happen to have Veeam ONE deployed? If so, isn't SQL Backup Job Historical Information report something that you're after? Thanks.

Additionally, there should be a summary report being sent based on backup job schedule. Thanks.

We do have a VeeamOne console, so I will try that report. Thanks.
