SQL Restore - Server in DMZ

Post by Lalegre »

I am facing this issue:

I have an SQL Server in a DMZ and i added a secondary vNIC on a Backup VLAN. I tested the backup (with application-aware enabled) and it ran ok. But then, i tried to run a restore and it failed. Not the restore of the full VM but the SQL one.

I changed my hosts file on the Veeam Server acting as Mount Server to tried the restore forcing the SQL to resolve the IP on the Backup VLAN. If i delete that register it does not work.

Is that an expected behaviour?

Thanks.

Hello,
I changed my hosts file on the Veeam Server acting as Mount Server to tried the restore forcing the SQL to resolve the IP on the Backup VLAN
so it worked with hosts file modification - correct?
If i delete that register it does not work.
Without modified hosts file, it is expected that it does not work, yes.

Best regards,
Hannes
