All,
Just a quick question.
I've got some Windows servers, which have some SQL components (e.g. native client), but no SQL database on them. Yet when I do "Appliaction Items" recovery against them, I do see SQL as an option.
My question, how does Veeam know this?
Thanks!

Re: SQL Server Detection
Hi lightsout.
Looks like backup job has collected the SQL metadata from these hosts. I assume if the database is not there you won’t see these instances in the backup (try to start a point in time restore, to be sure).

Re: SQL Server Detection
My guess - the presence of a VSS writer for SQL server!
