SQL Server on different port
A customer is running their SQL Server on another port than 1433, and they need app-aware backup. Where do I configure this in VBR? Or will it work anyway if the port is open? I am unable to test it as we haven't opened any ports yet.

Re: SQL Server on different port
Daniel,
Port does not matter since application-aware backups are achieved via VSS. You need to enable AAP in the job settings and you should be good to go.
Thanks!

And in a restore situation, if the customer would want us to restore a database directly into their SQL Server? Now I don't think they will, most probably it will be fine with exporting a backup file, but it would be interesting to know anyway.

In case of the restore, I guess you will need to follow this advice > Feature request: Custom SQL port for database connection
