Hi.
Does Veeam have an official step-by-step installation/implementation for a Ubuntu-based hardened repository beside the documentation?
https://www.starwindsoftware.com/blog/v ... ory-part-1 looks very good, but there is a few point where the author mention that "he is not sure at time written".
Just want to be sure to have a good receipe to follow as we will sell/implement this for the customers and give them the detailed documentation for what we implement.

Re: Step-by-step for Immutable backup
I could not quickly locate those "not sure" parts, but we'd be happy to answer any questions on those here!
So far, the only unobvious part of the hardened repository deployment has been with the credentials to register the Linux server with. We saw people with no Linux background deploying persistent data mover under a root account, adding a limited account to sudoers with the corresponding UI option, and doing other things that did not really make sense from a security perspective. So in the GA build, we simply blocked those possibilities completely for single-use credentials, and added some warnings in other places. This should allow even unexperienced Linux users to easily deploy the hardened repository correctly without the need of long guides, as the UI itself will guide them.
