Storage Compatabilty Settings

New to Veeam so please bear with me. I have been reviewing our environment and have noticed that our repositories do not have the following settings set.

Decompress backup block before storing

Use Per-VM Backup Files

We are backing up to Data Domain and reading documentation these should be enabled. Can anyone tell me the impact it will have on the existing repositories if I enable these 2 settings?

Backup and granular restore performance will improve.

Thanks, but can I change these setting on the fly without an impact?

You will need to run new active full backups for existing jobs to apply new settings. Compact full will also do the trick. Thanks.
