Hello,
In setting up Veeam, we are currently backing up to SAN disk with Veeam. We are now going to begin offsiting our Veeam backups to Data Domains located at our on-premise location and remote. In doing so, with the best practices that are suggested, we will backup to SAN-based disk first, then use remote copy jobs to send the data to the Data Domains. The question I have is, can I leave the backups that go to the SAN as compressed, and have the ones sent to Data Domain decompressed to meet Data Domain best practices? We unfortunately have to use TSM to backup our Veeam files to tape right now (long story, really not wanting to get into it) but will be changing that in the future when budget is available to add more drives to our tape library. Is this a workable solution?

Re: Storage Questions in regards to compression
You can either select None compression level in the backup copy job to transfer data uncompressed or configure repository server to decompress data prior to writing it to the storage.
