Is it possible to use storage-based snapshots with a VM-based proxy? I suspect not, but figured I'd ask here before giving up on it completely.
I'm currently evaluating the Enterprise Plus product and have discovered that, so far at least, Veeam does/will not mount the PureStorage FlashArray-based snapshots to my vSphere 6.5 VM-based proxy. Technologically, I do not see why this shouldn't work, though I admit there are a few more hoops to jump thru.
We currently have no physical (non-vSphere) hosts attached to our SAN fabric, and I don't fancy adding one just to support this feature as we were not informed previously a physical host would be necessary.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Storage Snapshots on with VM-based proxy?
Hi, Simon. Do you have FC or iSCSI fabric?

Re: Storage Snapshots on with VM-based proxy?
While VM can serve as a proxy for storage snapshots in case of iSCSI setup and can be used for evaluation purposes, it doesn't make sense in terms of a data flow since access to storage stops to be "direct".
