subject in email notification

Post by slaburda »

In version 6 is little bit new email notification. In subject is information about job name, status of completion and how many VMs was completed from total VMs (example: Job_name completed: Failed (10 of 10 VMs processed)).

Unfortunately if one or more VMs failed in the job, You still see in subject for example “10 of 10 VMs processed” and is not evident if problem is with storage, VM or something else.

More clear looks subject for example like this: Job_name completed: Status_of_complete (VMs processed - Total:10 –Success:9 – Failed:1)

Is it possible to review the subject?

Thank You.

I have been subscribed to our production backup notifications, and based on this experience I want to make the shorter, as well as address the issue you are talking about. My current plan is to change them to the following:

Code: Select all

[Success] %jobname% (15 VMs)
[Warning] %jobname% (2 out of 15 VMs logged warning)
[Failed] %jobname% (3 out of 15 VMs failed)

My 2 cents: I prefer the email subject of Veeam 6.5 with "Success" or "Failure" at the very beginning of the email
Don't like new v7 subject with datetime at the beginning :)

Thanks

You can easily edit the subject of e-mail notifications on the Options menu, moving %Time% variable to another place or removing it completely from subject.
