Suggestion: Monitoring events when SQL fails

Post by TonioRoffo »

Hello,

I'd like to make a suggestion towards event logging.

We have a Veeam B&R which failed to backup for over a month, but during that time, not a single event was logged to the Veeam event log.

https://ibb.co/c3Q9Ktr

This was caused by an SQL error, Event 17189 in the application log: "SQL Server failed with error code 0xc0000000 to spawn a thread to process a new login or connection. Check the SQL Server error log and the Windows event logs for information about possible related problems. [CLIENT: u.x.y.z]"

Is it possible to extend the event logs in future Veeam B&R builds, so something gets logged when backups do not run in this situation? We also monitor the running status of all services, but that didn't help either in this situation.

Thanks.

Hello,
errors should be logged... what is the Veeam support case number for that problem? If you did not open a case yet, please open one and post the case number for reference.

Thanks,
Hannes
