Hello everyone,
I have set up SureBackup in our environment.
Unfortunately, I keep getting a ping error.
The production network and the lab network are the same.
I cannot ping the proxy machine from the VM.

Re: Surebackup Pingtest Fail
Is it a Windows or Linux VM?
Do you have added the Gateway IP addresses from your production subnet as virtual lab IP Gateways?
Please read this one as well:

Re: Surebackup Pingtest Fail
Hi Fabian (great name
)
Unfortunately, we cannot troubleshoot your specific configuration through a forum thread. I recommend opening a support case so our support team can review the log files and configuration. They will be able to guide you in determining why the ping isn't working.
There are a some key settings that must be configured correctly for the ping test to be successful:
Virtual Lab properties: Networking mode & Isolated Network settings &
Network settings
Assuming you have a single subnet (production VMs and Backup server in the same ip subnet), you are most likely going with "Basic single-host" for the network mode. But we don't know your environment, which makes it challenging to provide you the exact configuration. I recommend you to read the help center article for Virtual Lab and SureBackup Jobs for better understanding how everything works.
Firewall Configuration: Make sure the firewall on the tested VM is disabled in the isolated lab. For Windows-based VMs, you can configure the SureBackup job to disable the firewall. If the firewall was disabled on the original VM, the tested VM will also start with the firewall disabled.
As a basic test, can you ping the original domain controller (DC) server?
Additionally, you can perform a manual verification after a SureBackup job has failed. To do this, open the SureBackup Session Statistics and right-click on the failed VM. You’ll see an option to <start>. If you click on <start>, the backup server will power on the VM in your virtual lab, allowing you to use the Hyper-V/vSphere remote console to do manual checks to determine why the ping is not working.

Best,
Fabian
