Are there any Surebackup scripts for validating Tomcat servers and MYSQL databases?

We run a several MYSQL databases with Tomcat web server front ends. Are there are SureBackup scripts that can "verify" Tomcat and MYSQL functionality?

There is a good blog post on how to implement and adopt custom test scripts, with step-by-step explanation.

In the article, author validates the status of DHCP service. To verify that Tomcat / MYSQL are up and running, you can try this script as-is (just set the corresponding service name as the argument). Hope it helps!

Is there a special section (or should there may be one) in which people post their test scripts? The current test scripts are rather limited it seems.

I guess the vmconnectiontester is just a ping check?

Actually these are threads on HOW to implement the scripts. I was rather looking at example scripts. For example how to perform a real SQL query against a DB or check if a user is present in AD to prove AD is up and running

Oh I see...I'm pretty sure that some of our customers are already using those custom scripts, but unfortunately nobody has shared them yet (except for the blog post above).

Not a ping check, VmConnectionTester.exe checks whether the specified TCP port is open. For example, if you set the port number to 80 - it would test HTTP service; to 3306 - MySQL service... etc.
