SureBackup + VMware KB2144685
All,
Has anyone else applied this ESXi 6.0 U2 patch yet?
https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/micro ... Id=2144685
I have this week, on two different clusters, and since then my Sure Backup jobs all fail. It registers the first virtual machine, and then tries to snapshot it, which fails immediately with msg.changetracker.NOTOPEN. Looking at the hostd.logs on the ESXi host itself, it seems to suggest it can't write to the virtual lab datastore. Which is my case is a dedicated LUN with plenty of free space and no other VMs on it!
I've reboot ESXi, vCentre, and Veeam itself and nothing has changed. My two vSphere clusters are entirely separate and both failed after the patch was applied to them.
I'm running on Veeam v9 U2 with a FC connected NetApp in 7-mode.

Re: SureBackup + VMware KB2144685
I am running ESXi 6.0 U2 as well with daily SureBackup jobs running on a datastore running on HPE VSA (not dedicated for SureBackup, shared with others) and so far I haven't seen any errors. Running Veeam v9 with Update 1 (there is no U2 so I guess you mean U1 as well ? ). Do you have by any chance a datastore which is not NetApp related to try it?

Case #01804757 submitted.
And yes, I meant Veeam 9 U1. I was getting confused with vSphere 6 U2!

Hey!
Having the same issue, did you ever end up reaching a resolution?

Yes, I got a hotfix from Veeam support to fix the issue. This will be included in a future hotfix for Veeam.
