Sync now > All

Post by TitaniumCoder477 »

Of copy jobs, the help center says, "If you want to copy all restore points created by the source jobs but that were not copied since the last backup copy job session, click All." This is after clicking "Sync now". My question is this: If the source job is a forward incremental with weekly full backups (and thus has two full chains, each with its own full backup, plus half a chain with it's full backup since we're in the middle of the week), will the copy job literally copy these full backups and their related increments? (resulting in the same consumption of space on the target) Or, will it create a full backup and then an increment for every other point on the source. (which would result in less consumption due to only one full backup)

Scenario A:
- Source: FIIIIIIFIIIIIIFIIII
- Destination: FIIIIIIFIIIIIIFIIII

Scenario B:
- Source: FIIIIIIFIIIIIIFIIII
- Destination: FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Hi James

Backup Copy jobs use their own backup chains and full backup/incremental schedule. It's not an exact copy of the source job. I expect the job to create scenario B.
